IT Asset Planning
In Asset, life cycle planning is an important stage it can help you cut down extra maintenance costs, and use existing hardware and licenses optimally. Many times we procure Assets based on requirements without planning or properly verifying our Asset inventory which not only impacts the finances part also we are not utilizing assets properly so planning is most important when you procure new Assets. The decision to procure assets is based on the business’s needs, contributing to operations, and generating revenue.
Planning phase
- The requester raises a request for Asset.
- The asset team gathers detailed requirements from the requester.
- The asset team must evaluate existing assets and their potential to meet requests.
- If not in Stock, Provide requirements to the procurement team with all specifications that may be related to Technical or business.
- The procurement Team needs to negotiate with a minimum of 3 vendors and select the best suitable Asset for the business.
- The procurement team needs to follow the financial approval process, before placing an order.
- The procurement team places the Order.
Throughout all parts of the planning phase, it is essential to ensure that the ongoing development adds value to the company.
